U.Va. and the Patent Foundation are supportive of faculty start-ups and their efforts to lead to the development of a dynamic, high-tech industry in Charlottesville. The Patent Foundation has formed Spinner Technologies Inc., a for-profit subsidiary, with the specific aim of supporting U.Va. faculty inventor-entrepreneurs in their efforts to create technology-based start-up companies.
