Morgan E. Estabrook

Outreach & Communications Manager

B.A., Journalism; Master of Mass Communication

Morgan E. Estabrook joined the Patent Foundation as outreach and communications manager in November 2007. Her primary responsibilities include managing the Patent Foundation’s communications strategy, public and media relations, Web site, social media and publications.

Estabrook previously served as senior writer and production manager for the U.Va. School of Engineering and Applied Science and as interim production manager for U.Va.’s College and Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. Her work has been honored by the American Marketing Association (AMA), the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and McMurry’s Center for Professional Excellence.

Estabrook graduated summa cum laude with a Master of Mass Communication and a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and mass communication (strategic media and public relations emphasis) from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in 2005 and 2004, respectively. Her master’s thesis, entitled “From Watchdog to Lapdog?: The Ethics of Embedded Journalism in Wartime,” explored the history and ethical nature of wartime journalism leading up to Gulf War II.

Estabrook is a member of the AMA, the Charlottesville Business Innovation Council, the Association of University Technology Managers and the Academic Licensing Community of Virginia.
