UVAPF Seeks Nominations for 2010 Inventor of the Year

The University of Virginia Patent Foundation is now seeking nominations for the 2010 Edlich-Henderson Inventor of the Year.

Named for U.Va. Professor Emeritus Richard F. Edlich, M.D., Ph.D., and Christopher J. Henderson, the award recognizes an inventor or team of inventors each year whose technology has proven to be of notable value to society. Award winners receive a $10,000 cash prize and formal recognition at the Patent Foundation's annual awards reception, to be held at the Rotunda the evening of Monday, April 5, 2010.

Eligible nominees: (1) are current University of Virginia faculty, staff or students; (2) currently have an issued and non-expired U.S. patent OR copyright on their technology; and (3) have invented a technology that is, in the opinion of the nominator, of high value to society.

To make a nomination, simply send an e-mail or letter of support identifying the nominee(s) and addressing the above criteria to the U.Va. Patent Foundation by Monday, March 1, 2010. Nominations should be sent via e-mail (preferred) to or by mail to:
