Heart and Vascular Center Advisory Board and has been involved in fund-raising activities for the U.Va. Cancer Center.

Campbell holds a Ph.D. degree in business administration from Columbia University, an M.B.A. degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University. During his academic life, he taught accounting and marketing courses to undergraduate students.
