Advisory Panel

The University of Virginia Patent Foundation’s Advisory Panel, established in March 2010, is a distinguished group of local entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, academics and members of industry who make recommendations to the Patent Foundation regarding patent investment decisions and offer feedback on faculty start-up business plans. Advisory Panel members make recommendations on U.Va. technologies based on patentability, market analysis, industry feedback, research funding, the panelists’ own experiences and other factors. The panel reviews U.Va. technologies eligible for conversion to a full U.S. or international patent application at quarterly meetings, which the technologies’ inventors are encouraged to attend.
